Poultry Flock to Increase by 1.5% in Russian Agricultural Enterprises in July 2008

According to the data of Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, poultry flock increased by 1.5% in agricultural enterprises of Russia in July 2008 to compare with June 2008. As the officials of Institute for Agricultural Market Studies reported to IА REGNUM, the increase was observed in all Federal districts of the Russian Federation except for Volga Federal District. Maximum growth of poultry flock was registered in agricultural enterprises of Central Federal District. Together with that, the volumes of distributed slaughter poultry decreased by 1.5%. Agricultural enterprises of Central and Siberian Federal Districts influenced the decrease of slaughter poultry distribution in Russia. As for other federal districts of Russia, the slaughter poultry distribution increase was registered there.

Fresh-dressed poultry production was down by 2.4% in meat processing plants in July 2008 to compare with June 2008.

A monthly volume of imported poultry was down by 25.7% in July of the current year to compare with the corresponding rate of the previous month.

Market resources were down by 3.9% due to reduction of imports to the territory of the Russian Federation and domestic production decrease in July 2008 in comparison with June 2008. The market capacity was up by 8.7% due to seasonal increase of per capita consumption of poultry in July 2008 in comparison with the previous month.
